Modalhor, rail-road intermodal interchange
The Modalhor interchange was built to enable trucks to be loaded onto trains. The facility has an annual capacity of between 300,000 and 600,000 heavy trucks, that is to say, up to 50% of current road traffic. Modalhor trains can also transport loaded trailers. The journey from Arc-Isère to Orbassano, on the outskirts of Turin, takes 3 hours and there are four services in each direction every day.
When the interchange is operating at full capacity, 20 services (10 trains) will run.
