Agro-alimentary enterprises develop in Savoie in conjunction with the value-added strengths of the region. 50% of these enterprises use the image of Savoie, which values purity, naturalness, tradition, and authenticity.

With more than 400 enterprises and most of 3,000 workers, the agro-alimentation industry is the first industrial sector in Savoie. Benefiting from numerous labels with AOC (Appellation d’Origine Controlée) quality certification, it is a booming sector with strong potential.

Whatever the target, the perception of Savoie is the same : “an ideal region” for its environment and  human qualities – the region is perceived to be very much in tune with nature – its products being straight from the earth.


Rhône-Alpes : large and rich consumer market

With a production rate more than 11% above the European average, Rhône-Alpes harbors a market of 15 million consumers within a radius of 250 km.  Its population is growing thanks to its strong attractiveness and one of the highest birth rates in Europe.


Tourism, a driving market for natural local products

In France, tourist consumption represents a market of 122.9 M€, being around 7% of the national production rate. Mountain tourism generates the strongest consumption for this market. With its 392,156 inhabitants, Savoie is known to welcome these visitors - counting close to 600,000 tourist beds!
