They chose Savoie...
The arrival of Schwörer strengthens the "Eco-construction" sector in Savoie
Schwörer Haus has chosen Chambéry for its French headquarters. A family-owned company created in the 1950s, Schwörer Haus is now one of Germany's biggest builders of wood-framed, low energy consumption houses. The company employs more than 1700 people at 9 production sites. With more than 30,000 houses to its credit, Schwörer Haus is a benchmark for innovative architecture and environmental protection. The Schwörer Haus concept is based on the use of natural materials, total insulation, heat recovery, renewable energies and home automation. Currently occupying temporary offices at Savoie Technolac, the company is planning to build an ambitious headquarters in the Chambéry area. In 2008, the company will also build a passive-energy show house, as well as a showroom. Schwörer expects to create more than 30 new jobs within 2 years. In order to attract the company to Savoie, the Agence Economique de la Savoie, ERAI, Chambéry Metropole, Savoie Technolac and the ANPE worked together to identify suitable building land and premises and to provide assistance with recruitment.
